The legal community has finally warmed up to Legal Document Assistants. The law recognizes them under Business and Professions Code 6400-6415, the county courts have allowed their registration, and successful attorneys are catching on that we are their best friend.

B & P Code 6400-6415 defines what a Legal Document Assistant is allowed by law. The courts know when a Self-Represented Litigant has retained a Legal Document Assistant (LDA). Each and every document filed must contain the following: The LDA's name, business address, telephone number, registration number, expiration date of registration, and the county of that registration.
